This was the strangest project ever – decluttering a house whilst the owners were on holiday. Not something I was really comfortable with to start with, until my client had proven that she had full permission to declutter her sister’s house while she was away!
We arranged plenty of helpers (friends and family) to act as packers, cleaners, runners to the tip and charity shop etc. and the whole project was completed in one weekend.
We don’t charge extra for organising a team of family or friends to help you – so this can be a really cost-effective way of changing your life forever!

As I suspected, the homeowner wasn’t as delighted with the decluttering as her sister (my client) had hoped for. I did keep a close eye on the organisation, so everywhere knew how and where to put things away, but it took the homeowner a while to realise we really only had thrown rubbish away and that all of her belongings were safe. It’s not an approach I would recommend. Decluttering with the homeowner is much more adviseable!
